
Nemanja Vidic tells Manchester United to omit Harry Maguire from line up
Manchester United could consider removing Harry Maguire out of the lineup, according to Nemanja Vidic, in order for him to regain his form.
The United captain has had a long run of bad luck this season, which has been a disaster for the team. Last summer, the 29-year-old dazzled during England’s journey to the Euro 2020 final, but he has struggled to reach the same heights for his domestic side in the previous year.
Supporters have questioned Maguire’s status in the team, as well as his captaincy, as United’s chances of finishing in the top four have dwindled.
United appears to be out of contention for the Champions League next season after losing to Everton on Saturday, leaving them six points behind fourth place with only seven games remaining.
At various stages this season, interim manager Ralf Rangnick and his predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have rallied around Maguire.
With little to play for the rest of the season, former United defender Nemanja Vidic believes it may be in Maguire’s best interests to be left out.
