Mason Greenwood still suspended by Manchester United despite ‘reappearing on club website’
After being detained on suspicion of rape, assault, and threats to kill, the 20-year-old was suspended by United at the end of January. The England international was eventually released on bail by Greater Manchester Police.
Greenwood’s Nike sponsorship deal was canceled, and United removed all Greenwood-related products from their online store.
He has also been deleted from the video games FIFA 22 and Football Manager 2022, as well as United’s app.
Greenwood was reportedly re-added to the club’s website on Wednesday evening, with his image appearing under the first-team squad and player pages.
This sparked speculation on social media that he would be returning to the fold.
Greenwood, on the other hand, was never taken from the website in the first place — only from the app to keep him out of interactive aspects – and he is unlikely to return to the United squad anytime soon.
Greenwood’s condition has not changed in the eyes of United, and he remains unavailable for selection until further notice.
