Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ro”naldo’s staggering earnings have been rated in a new li”st, albeit neither is Europe’s highest-paid footballer.
The PSG star, 34, and Manche”ster United icon, 3_7, currently earn £652k and £5’15k per week, respectively. But there is one star who outea”rns both Ballon dOr winners in terms of an’nual ear’nings:
Messi’s teammate Neymar, who is sai”d to earn a remarkable £41.5 million per y’ear (£798,000 per week).
Though he is never one to se”ttle for second best, Messi’s salary might surpass Ney’mar’s if he stays until the end of the current season. The Argen’tine’s deal includes a £25.4 million ‘loyalty incen’tive,’ which would be activated if he elected to stay in Paris fo’r a second season.
The incentive would bring his tot’al earnings for the year to £59.3 million. PSG’s front’line is completed by Kylian Mbappe, who ranks eighth on th’e list of Europe’s highest-paid players. The wonderkid is a su”mmer goal for Real Madrid, but the La Liga leaders wi’ll have to at least equal his £22.4m-a-year salary if th’ey are to land their top target.
