BREAKING NEWS: Barcelona have agreed Manchester united offer for Frankie de jong

Manchester United have made an ope’ning offer to FC Barcelona for the transfer of Fre’nkie de Jong, according to a report from Spain.

De Jong is believed to be Uni’ted’s top transfer target this season, with the two clu’bs reportedly already having come close to an agreement la’st week.

The stumbling block has been the pl’ayer’s desire to stay at the club but the 25 year old’s rece’nt comments while on international duty for Holland sugg’ested that he was not 100% happy at the Camp Neu aft’er all.

Yesterday, leading Spanish outlet Marc’a claimed that “Between the pressure that [United man’ager Erik] Ten Hag is exerting and what he will have t’o experience next season at the Camp Nou, the pla’yer is becoming increasingly clear that his futu’re is far from the Camp Nou.

“United have also moved in th’e offices and have made an offer of €60 million (£51m) fix’ed plus another €20m (£17m) in variables.

“These amounts are close to Bar’celona’s demands, and they are seriously studying the pro’posal.”
